Here's some recent sketches! These are also posted in my personal blog, The Art of Hugo Giraud. As always click on the images for a bigger version:
One of my favorite Marvel characters: classic X-men Nightcrawler quick sketch for Sketch Dailies, all digital (Adobe Ps, Kyle T. Webster brushes, Wacom Cintiq, Adobe Ai for type- Palooka from Blambot). He was created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum, debuting on a new mutant team with Sunfire, Banshee, Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Wolverine on "Giant-Size X-men #1":
Watched "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" movie a week back, solid action and comic movie! Here's a classic Kirby "coming-atcha!" style Cap, done with Palomino Blackwing on the Moleskine. Cap was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby before Marvel even happened:
BTW, I also finished reading "Marvel Comics: The Untold Story" by Sean Howe. Lots of interesting backstory and drama from the Stan and Jack days until now! Stan is great but IMHO Long Live The King.
I watched a lot of wrestling as a kid both in PR and the US! My favorites were Carlitos Colon, Los Super Medicos, Los Invaders, Abdullah the Butcher, and even had a namesake in Hugo Savinovich. In the US, the Ultimate Warrior was one of the most exciting characters to watch because he was so colorful yet such a mystery, Rest In Peace. Done in Palomino Blackwing on Moleskine:

Joan Holloway
Hugo here!
I finished "Mad Men" season 4 on Netflix recently and thought it'd be appropriate to sketch the Marilyn Monroe-esque Joan Holloway, played by Christina Hendricks. She's definitely a character that seemed shallow in the beginning but the writers were able to induce her with some depth. It's also great to see that TV is putting women with real curves on the screen.
I'm definitely a fan of her and the show (Don Draper sketch coming soon) but so much smoking and drinking on it though! Also check out Hendricks as a bad ass in the Joss Whedon series "Firelfly", where I saw her the 1st time.
